A downloadable demo for Windows and Linux

Beneath the Nails is an atmospheric game about the life of a miner, the extraction of ore, and the strange events that become harder to ignore with each passing night.

Dig deeper, sell resources, buy upgrades, and expand your way through the mine. Use mine carts, lanterns, dynamite, and other equipment to push further underground. But be careful - the darkness hides more than just ore.

Collect cassette tapes, listen to recordings, and slowly uncover what happened in this place long ago. By day, the mine feels like ordinary work. But at night, the silence begins to sound wrong.

Features:

  • resource gathering and equipment upgrades;
  • mine carts and rails for transporting ore;
  • collectible cassette tapes and radios;
  • a day and night cycle;
  • atmospheric events and horror elements;
  • exploration of the mine and the hub area.

Very fun game. Loved the atmosphere, but there were a few things that could be improved on.

1. No save. I accidentally went to main menu while trying to check the flashlight button, and lost my save.

2. No auto-mine button. To save my wrists, I used an autoclicker to mine instead of spamming. It would be nice to add a way to mine without clicking a ton in game.

3. The floor and walls have dirt and ore behind them, which are mineable. This let me fill my inventory with dirt, and then scan the ground for exposed ore under the floor. Might be good to make the walls and floor prevent mining.

I didn't get extremely far due to the aforementioned save loss, but this was very fun. I am excited to see where this goes.

An oppressive atmosphere. Stylish visuals, sound, and music. 10 diggers out of 10

I was running away from a sound in the mine. I was terrified. I never figured out what was making the noise since I was hiding inside the house - it was truly scary. I’ve never seen gameplay like this before. Definitely 5 stars.

Reminded me a smidge of What Lies Beneath by LoZog, Pozzo99, Locstock, clawbe, MeoopMoeep, YOYBROY, Sskano and savdev actually.

Surprisingly addicting retro horror! This game is pretty interesting and has its own cool quirks. I ended up digging through the mine nonstop for a solid 2 hours until I finally beat it. This was actually my first time playing this type of game, but I absolutely loved it. Highly recommended to everyone!
